March 22, 2018    > > > Lonnie Hebl - New President of SFVM

On March 22, 2018 Wayne Stillman decided to step down as President of Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial. Wayne has served in that position since its formation in 1995.
He will remain on the board as President Emeritus.

Lonnie Hebl was unanimously elected to serve as President.

Lonnie has been working with the Memorial committee for about the past 20 years. Since the beginning Lonnie has worked with the Sentence to Serve program to furnish labor for much of the construction. Lonnie personally has been in charge of and himself worked to install the 6000 pavers that are at the Memorial. The work Lonnie has done is too massive to list but includes, installation of lighting, landscaping work, repair and upkeep of the lighting, installation of benches and was there when any work had to be done.

CONGRATULATIONS Lonnie!
The SFVM Committee thanks you for your leadership.

The Memorial Committee sincerely thanks all those who contributed to the Memorial in this way and for all other donations made to make this Memorial what it is today.

This Memorial, was conceived in 1995, and has been built without tax dollars due to the time, talent and treasure contributed by the Memorial Committee and the countless other volunteers and donors who contributed in significant ways to honor those who served.

Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial has become a destination in itself and a Memorial to our Veterans that Rochester can be proud of.

we will NEVER FORGET the over 83,000 still missing service members
until they all come home.
